Diagnostics in Kanata
Kanata is where the truck starts and finishes, so it is the easiest place in the service area to get to on a weeknight.
Diagnostics
The codes read and, more to the point, explained: what the car is actually reporting, and what it does and does not prove.
We come to you across Kanata, Stittsville, Barrhaven, Nepean and the rest of the west end, weeknights from 5pm and all day Saturday and Sunday, so the car is fixed where it already sits.
What it covers
We read the codes and tell you what they actually mean before anything gets replaced.
Diagnostics is the one job on this list that is not a repair. What you are buying is an answer: the codes the car is really storing, the live data behind them, and what that does and does not prove. You get the codes written down whatever you decide to do next and whoever you decide to do it with, which is the difference between this and somebody at a parts counter reading one code off a cheap reader and selling you the part it names.
How long it takes. Usually an hour, and often less when the code turns out to say what it means.
Why people call
You do not have to know what the part is called. These are the words people actually use, and any one of them is enough to book on.
The one thing we will ask back. Is the light on steady or flashing, and is the vehicle still drivable? Answer that in the first message and you will usually get a price without a second round of questions.
On the truck
What we will not do on a driveway. A fault that only appears at highway speed, on a bad road, an hour into a drive, is not going to appear on your driveway. When that is what we are chasing we will tell you what it will take, and not charge for an afternoon of not reproducing it.
What it costs
There is no price for a diagnostic job on this page on purpose. What it comes to depends on the vehicle, the parts it takes and what is found once a wheel is off, and a figure written here would either be wrong or be something you end up arguing about in a driveway.
You get the cost of the work and the cost of the drive together, before anything is booked, and it does not change once you have said yes.
Whatever we have published is on the pricing page, and the warranty, the emergency call-out and what happens with parts you supply yourself are on the FAQ.
Getting to you
Travel is priced by where you are rather than by the hour, and every postal code and village we cover has its own number against it. Kanata carries none at all, because that is where the truck starts and finishes its day.
A fuel surcharge is added to the estimate to cover the drive to you. You see both numbers, the work and the trip, before you agree to anything.
Look yours up on the service-area page, which carries the whole table and a checker for your own three letters.
What people say
“Excellent, honest service. My car would not start and although I am a CAA member I could not get the service I am supposedly paying for. I called Peakline and got immediate over the phone troubleshooting services. Within 1 day they diagnosed and fixed my battery issue. The price was so reasonable and the convenience factor was a refreshing customer experience! They sent me photos of the problem and kept me up to date on the status of my repair. I highly recommend this company. I will think twice about spending my money on a service like CAA when I can get reliable qualified, honest mechanics from Peakline. With CAA I felt stranded. With Peakline I had a lifeline.”Luigina Polidori · January 2026
“Great work! Honest mechanics. Mobile for convenience! Looking forward to getting my tires installed and rotated with them in the coming weeks! No hidden charges and they provided suggestions for work that was priority now, and work that could wait. I’m so very appreciative of their help and respectful work. I had to reschedule, and they were extremely accommodating!”Lauren Miller · January 2026
Written up for where you are
What tends to go wrong on this job around there, and where the car can be parked while we do it.
Kanata is where the truck starts and finishes, so it is the easiest place in the service area to get to on a weeknight.
Stittsville is mostly newer subdivisions with real driveways, which is close to ideal: the car is on level asphalt at the address it lives at, and there is room to work beside it.
Barrhaven is a mix. Longfields and Half Moon Bay are wide driveways and easy work; the older townhouse rows off Strandherd and Greenbank are shared lots where the spaces are tight and sometimes on a slope.

The other three we get called about most: brakes, tires & tpms, suspension. Everything else Peakline does is on the services page.
Ask us
Tell us what the car is and what it's doing, and we'll come back to you with a price. Texting is the quickest way to get hold of us.
Next opening: Monday. If the car has stopped you driving, say so and we'll work around it.
We rent trailers too, from the same driveway. An equipment trailer and an enclosed cargo one.
Or send it over: your number, the car and what it is doing, one question at a time. It takes a minute and we price it from that.
